Argentina maintains its top position, solidifying its standing after overcoming fifth-placed Brazil in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in November.

Kenya has ended the year at position 110 in the latest FIFA World Men’s rankings, disclosed on Thursday, December 21, 2023.

The performance of Harambee Stars in 2023 showcased a mix of noteworthy victories and disappointing defeats, factors that seemingly left their ranking unchanged.

The team accumulated 1181 points, maintaining the status quo since the last ranking update on November 30, 2023, as confirmed by FIFA.

Firat has not shied away from critiquing the calibre of opponents the team has encountered over the years, stressing the need to face a European nation to enhance their style of play and results.

"Even when I check the football history here, I saw you have never played against a team from Europe. I am serious…no, never ever. This is part of what we may do this year, I believe, we may play one team (from Europe)," he said.

While significant victories, such as the one against Qatar in an international friendly, positively contributed to their total points, the defeat to Gabon impeded substantial progress.

The upcoming opportunity to shift rankings lies with the commencement of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. Kenya started the year at 102nd, reaching its peak position on April 6, 2023.

Argentina maintains its top position, solidifying its standing after overcoming fifth-placed Brazil in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in November. France secured the second spot, followed by England in third place and Belgium in fourth.
